HOW TO: Add Layers and Look Stylish for Transitioning To Spring

If you’re like us, you’re feeling ready to shed your winter wardrobe and begin donning your spring threads! But as we know here in the Midwest, this time of year it could feel like sunshine is here to stay one day, then back to nearly winter the next. With that in mind, this week we’ve taken a few more of our favorite trends for the season and styled them paired back to transitional layering. So you can look cool while staying warm. Think Spring!

MAXI SKIRT

WHITE TEE | MAXI SKIRT | LEATHER JACKET | SANDAL | WRAP
The maxi skirt is a favorite around here, and we love that the denim maxi is being brought back! For a little double layering action, drape your wrap over your leather jacket (let the shoulders fall off the jacket shoulders delicately, OR wear it solo as a chunky scarf). Wear the look with a cute sandal as shown, or on these rainy days a flat ankle boot still works!

WIDE LEG TROUSER

WIDE LEG PANT | BLAZER | BODYSUIT | SANDAL | NECKLACE
When transitioning a wide leg trouser into spring, remember fabrication is crucial. This Veronica Beard beauty is a mid-weight, so it’s breathable for spring, but can be continued heavily for fall and early winter. We add a pop of color with the coral cami, then add the white blazer to finish the look, bookend the neutrals and add nice coverage.

BRIGHT & BOLD

BLAZER | DENIM | BLOUSE | EARRINGSPUMP
We are loving this bold blazer! Perfect to pair with a great flare or trouser denim. Try it later with your white denim to really punch up Spring/Summer! Style an easy white blouse or tee (wherever the day is taking you!). Don’t be afraid to front tuck and leave the blazer unbuttoned. We love this fun heel to finish the look when Spring weather isn’t yet on our side to share our toes!

CARDIGAN

CARDIGAN | TEE | BRACELETS | SHORTS | SUNGLASSES |SNEAKERS
The cardigan is a versatile layering piece essential for every man’s wardrobe.  This more casual, linen cardigan would be great for our clients heading on spring break where the climates are still a bit cool in the mornings and evenings.  Layered with a tee and a pop-of-color shorts makes for a pulled-together look that is  still comfortable. Wear the cardigan open and front tuck the tee. When the afternoon heats up, peel this layer off and you’re all set for the sun.
