Menswear Monday: Fall Trends Breakdown Part 1 (Sport Coat)

Our trends with men this season much align with that of our ladies. We mentioned our focus on sustainable fashion, and with that we promise to deliver representation in the coming weeks of pieces that are suitable and appropriate for the season that are timeless, yet updated and fresh. This week we are highlighting the sport coat. It’s an essential in the male wardrobe, and we’re happy to be sharing a few ways to style for some inspiration!

CASUAL

We love a man in a well-fitted Sport coat and this one is no different. The black/white tailored blazer from Eleventy is great for a guy to style back to a slim straight denim and a leather sneaker. Think of this sport coat as the ladies’ version of a denim jacket. Throw it on to be your “hero” piece. Style with your go-to black belt. Perfectly casual.

I love this deconstructed Bonobos knit blazer for its versatility and for the polished casual look that it gives all year round. For Fall:  pair it back to a quarter zip sweater and a woven for a pop of color, a dark denim, and your favorite boots and belt.

 

SPORTY

The tech blazer is a great piece to have for polished travel outfitting. The no-wrinkle fabrication makes the blazer stay crips and polished throughout the day so it can go from travel to meetings seamlessly. And there are extra pockets for storing keys, tickets, earphones, etc while on the go.

The Corneliani Spor tcoat is a go-to for me when outfitting our male clients, and this palette of brown and grey tones is stunning. For a sporty look, pairing it with a textured sweater and denim feels polished yet casual. And if you do need to dress the look up, simply replacing the denim with a grey trouser pant, and topping it off with a brown loafer or monk strap shoe seals the deal.

DRESSY

This sport coat by Eleventy just screams fall. It can be worn to the office for professional wear, but it’s also perfect for an evening out. Mixing and matching colors can be tricky for our male clients, so we like the idea of creating a tonal monochromatic look to showcase the beauty of this jacket with touches of grey to further enhance the  jacket pattern. If you aren’t feeling the warm brown denim, you can always reach for a dark wash pair or even a trouser pant if that better suits your style.
