Satin Styling: The Stylists’ Guide

There’s no denying it: satin is one of the season’s trendiest fabrics… and will continue to be into the spring!!

But many clients are under the impression that it’s reserved “only for special occasions” (false!!).

So, how do you integrate it into everyday outfitting? You asked & our stylists answered.

Britt, Whit, & Christine have created a guide to show you how to integrate satin in all it’s sleek, stylish forms into your daily wear.

Scroll through for three satin dress, pant, and skirt looks.

THE SATIN DRESS

IN BRITT’S WORDS

Satin dresses can be incredibly versatile, and even a wardrobe staple to be able to wear for evening, casually, or can be great for work, too.

They’re also multi-seasonal, but this time of year we want to lean into layering because, well, Ohio winter.

While an outer layer is obvious, here we also layered under the dress for an unexpected look. Then, add a chunky belt to define the waist with a blazer draped over the shoulders so the sheer blouse still gets to peek through.

The look is finished with a suede boot so we can highlight all the textures!

THE SATIN PANT

IN WHIT’S WORDS

While many people reserve satin for holidays and formal events, this fabric is surprisingly versatile for everyday wear! On days when I am running to and from activities, I want an outfit that is comfortable yet polished – especially if I run into someone!

This wide-leg style pant is the perfect solution: the matte finish and drawstring are a contemporary touch, while the neutral color works for winter and transitions easily into spring.

I styled mine with a graphic knit and roll neck, then added a sleek varsity jacket and sneakers- equal parts sporty and sophisticated!

THE SATIN SKIRT

IN CHRISTINE’S WORDS

The beauty of a satin skirt lies in the drape and shine of the fabric, offering effortless sophistication, versatility, and a feeling of being put together without being overdressed. Therefore, it’s a timeless wardrobe staple.

I paired this LoveShack Fancy satin skirt with a cozy cropped sweater for a chic look that balances a delicate, romantic feel with a cozy texture.

Pair with a sneaker or ballet flat for a casual lunch or running errands; and for a more elevated look, pair with a pointed toe mule or slingback.
