Join us on a deep dive as we get to know what makes Whit the fabulous woman (and stylist) she is.
Plus, enjoy these behind-the-scenes snaps of her life outside of the wardrobe world.
Getting to Know the New Girl
After getting her architecture degree at The Ohio State University, Whit accepted a position as a visual display artist for Anthropologie.
Over time, her love of fashion would lead her towards a career in visual merchandising for multiple Columbus brands and eventually into wardrobe styling.
Whit ran her own LLC for 15 years, helping style commercial and editorial campaigns, as well as working on a variety of independent and mainstream movies.
What drives her passion for styling above all else is the intimate, one-on-one connections she forms with clients, using the transformative power of clothing to help them discover and express their authentic selves.
Whit lives in Columbus with her husband, Jeff, and their dog, Vinny.
Q&A Session: Asked and Answered
Q: What is your style philosophy?
A: Clothing is communication. The magic happens when your style becomes an authentic extension of who you are—that’s when you both feel and look genuinely radiant.
Q: Who are your style icons?
A: Chloe Sevigny and Cate Blanchett
Q: What are your favorite labels?
A: JW Anderson and Tibi—I love their ultramodern approach to silhouette and construction. Furthermore, their collections exude playfulness; to me, that’s what fashion is all about.
Q: Words you live by?
A: Whenever a door closes, another window opens.
Q: What is the most meaningful item in your wardrobe?
A: I have coats from both my grandparents – my grandfather’s leather jacket and my grandmother’s sable – that I wear as often as possible.
Q: Your favorite denim?
A: Frame – I own so many!
Q: Your biggest splurge?
A: A Yohji Yamamoto coat. I pulled and styled it for a photo shoot and then ended up purchasing it because I loved it so much.
Q: Your greatest steal?
A: Hands down, my Acne Studios leather moto jacket. I thrifted it for much less than half its retail value!
Q: What is your favorite food to make?
A: Anything sweet, but especially cookies. I love working my way through the NYT Cooking Cookie Week recipes during the holiday season.
Q: What is your ideal Saturday like?
A: Sleeping in a bit, a morning workout, coffee date with a friend, and relaxing after with a good book. Depending on my mood, the evening may consist of a homemade meal followed by game night with friends, or dinner and a movie at one of our local theaters.
Q: Your life in a hashtag?
A: #areyougoingtoeatthat
Q: What philanthropies are close to your heart?
A: Greater Columbus Arts Council, Freedom a la Cart, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Pelotonia… the list goes on!
Q: When you’re not thinking fashion, you’re…
A: Walking around the Franklin Park Conservatory with my husband and dog, spending time with friends and family, contemplating future travel plans, or getting lost in a good book or movie.
