This week we are talking about a classic wardrobe staple, the woven. We saw it grace many a runway for fall in the deconstructed form (oversized or asymmetrical), a personal favorite of ours. But we also love it done with a simple yet unexpected detail ( a ruffle or embellishment). And of course the tried and true classic woven which we recommend as a backbone to all wardrobes. A little hint of ruffle gives the classic white button down a feminine twist. Pair it with a tomboy field jacket, trendy straight leg jeans and a cognac bootie for an easy but stylish day look.

We love this classic look with the white woven layered under a sweater. Pop out the cuffs and scrunch up the sleeve for a bit of style. Pair with your favorite skinnies, Gucci loafers and belt for a polished-casual look when you’re running errands or attending the kids’ soccer game.

A white button down can be worn super sporty too. We love pairing it back to a jogger, like one of our favorites from Athleta or with a skinny yoga pant. Styled perfectly with a go-to sneaker and great looking body bag, this look feels put together, but nothing too tried. We love the balance.
A woven amongst sporty pieces already creates an edge, and the leather jogger only enhances this vibe. For our gals with height on their side, this can be left untucked, but to pull in the waist, try a half-front tuck. The belt bag can be worn across crossbody, or cinched at the natural waist to best flatter the shape. Oh, and who can resist the über cool high-tops? 🙂

DRESSY

A classic dressy piece? A crisp white woven! To modernize this idea, we’ve opted for a tunic style white woven. To dress it up a touch further we are pairing this piece with a black cropped leather pant along with a few other lovely accessories. If you like to be pulled in at the waist, add a chain belt (or any belt that is small to medium for this particular shirt style). For ultimate chicness be sure to cuff those sleeves and scrunch at the elbow!
