Team Insider: Spring Trends Breakdown, Part 4

Is it Thursday again already?! It’s been a busy week over here for team Wardrobe Therapy! We are working away to get you the content we know you’ll love, as well as continue our virtual styling for clients! By the way, we are loving your feedback–keep it coming! This week we are discussing one of our favorite trends (and we feel pretty confident you all might agree!)–Denim! With a fabulous dose of Tropical Prints to go along with them. We had fun with this one, we hope you will too 🙂

1 Farm Rio Bahia Saraong | 2 Gucci GG Bloom Slide Sandals | 3 Farm Rio Tropique Pants

Love this wrap for over bathing suits. It provides nice coverage to wear pool/beach side… but so colorful and easy too! I imagine wearing on a beach vacation (wishful thinking at the moment), paired with a tank and grecian wrap sandal worn for lunch! These Gucci slides just might have to be on repeat for the time we’re in. Worn with easy knit dresses or straight denim and t’s. Easy and chic. And this pant–the tropical print is fun! It’s a great shape for me, and the perfect runaround pant. I love the idea of a bodysuit or fitted knit tucked in.

1 Mother Swooner Roller Crop | 2 Levi’s 501 Long Shorts | 3 AGOLDE 70s Jumpsuit

Mother denim just fits. And if you’re willing to try a new style, this leg is so fresh and chic. Of course, we are all instantly drawn to the casualness of this with a knit tee, but would also look great with a blouse, tucked into the denim with a belt! A denim short is often times a staple within a wardrobe. For weekend wear for me, it’s my go to. For the past several years finding one that is the right length can be tricky. Often leading me to cut my own! I love this one by Levi’s, it’s the perfect shape and length. And this last pair, Agolde is always a favorite for me, and I love it on our clients too. This jumpsuit is adorable–I love the versatility! This style can be worn now through Fall, and easily layered with a casual cardigan or chic fitted blazer. Love the idea with a tank under too.

1 Pistola Anya Hawaiian Shirt  | 2 Dolce&Gabbana Mixed Tropical Print Shorts | 3 Farm Rio Forest Palm Jumpsuit

This Hawaiian-style top is the perfect summer shirt paired back with Bermuda denim! Love the 70s edge here. Next up, I think I just found the perfect Summer short! The Hawaiian print is so fun, on trend, and easy to pair with a white tank or tee and a sneaker for a sporty chic vibe! But can easily be dressed up with a silk blouse and long and lean blazer. And how great is this jumpsuit?! Makes me want to be on a beach vacay, but alas, I’ll just throw it on for a walk in my neighborhood 😉 Kidding, by Summer this number will be perfect out and about with a great lace-up square toe sandal and great little top handle bag!

1 Reformation Cowboy Jean | 2 3×1 Elizbella Cut-out Denim Skirt| 3 SLVERLAKE London Jeans

This straight style is everywhere (we LOVE it), but the grey wash feels fresh and cool. Great with a graphic tee and cardigan now or a tank and cool vest! Because the 70s style is speaking to me so much right now, a long denim skirt just feels right!! This is a great way to go dressy with denim. Pairing it with a bow blouse and a heel will elevate this skirt into a dressy wear-to-work style when the time comes! I am so feeling this straight style. Another straight leg jean? Yes! Remember, it’s the “new skinny”. The high waist silhouette here is figure flattering. The length hits right at the ankle to elongate the leg, which is needed with this style fitting looser on the leg. I’ll pair these with a square toe sandal and easy tee.

1 PatBO Eden Print Dress | 2 indi & Cold Bermuda Short  | 3 Tanya Taylor Beaded Tropical Print Headband

I love the muted tones of this tropical print dress. It can look great during the day with a light denim jacket and flats, or lace up sandals for evening. The longer length of these flowy shorts are a nod to Bermuda trend, while the print picks up on the tropical trend, both seen on the runways. These will be great once we hit those hot summer months ahead! If you shy away from prints, this is an easy way to add a cheerful dose of the tropical trend to any neutral outfit.

1  Good American The Bermuda Short | 2 Gucci Horsebit Denim Waistcoat | 3 Citizens of Humanity A-line Jeans

I tried out the Bermuda jean shorts trend last spring and loved it! It gave me coverage in areas that traditional cutoffs don’t. This option with a blazer and heels will look so chic. A vest is an easy layering piece to make an outfit look instantly styled! It looks great with the matching, but could also pair back to light wash denim bottoms. And lastly, light denim feels so fresh and fashion-forward this spring. I’ll be putting away my darker tones for a few months to embrace this lighter, brighter wash for spring.

1 Farm Rio Liberty Lace Blouse | 2 Etro Watercolor Tropical Print Skirt  | 3 Scotch & Soda Mixed Print Cardigan

Being the color lover that I am, the tropical print trend really speaks to me! What I especially love about this trend at the moment, is how fresh the prints feel. Lots of lovely options no matter your style preference. This Farm Rio top just screams SUMMER. Paired with a white Bermuda short, a hoop earring and sneaker is one option, but I can also pair it with a full leg denim. Again, lots of possibilities. This watercolor tropical print skirt from Etro is just STUNNING. This is for my gal who loves softer hues and fully feminine fabrics. This piece is definitely an investment, but worth it. And lastly, more of a daily wear tropical print piece, this cardigan, which is mixed prints. Super fun!

1 Rolla’s Classic Straight Jeans | 2 Club Monaco Mother Hustler  | 3 Ulla Johnson Andi Skirt

Move over skinny jeans, because full leg is IN. Really enjoying the change of pace with denim this season. Skinnies are still relevant, but fuller leg denim is major. From straight leg to cropped. Additionally, I’m loving the lighter hues we are seeing as well. This classic straight leg denim by Rolla’s is sheer perfection and I love the two-tone wash of the cropped flare by Club Monaco. And oh, denim skirts are back! This one by Ulla Johnson is perfect for dress up or dress down.
