Stylist
After getting her architecture degree at the Ohio State University, Whit accepted a position as a visual display artist for Anthropologie. Over time, her love of fashion would lead her towards a career in visual merchandising for multiple Columbus brands and eventually into wardrobe styling. Whitney ran her own LLC for 15 yrs, helping style commercial and editorial campaigns, as well as working on a variety of independent and mainstream movies. What drives her passion for styling above all else is the intimate, one-on-one connections she forms with clients, using the transformative power of clothing to help them discover and express their authentic selves. Whitney lives in Columbus with her husband, Jeff, and their dog, Vinny.
Style Philosophy: Clothing is communication. The magic happens when your style becomes an authentic extension of who you are—that's when you both feel and look genuinely radiant.
Style icon? Chloe Sevigny and Cate Blanchett
Favorite Label: JW Anderson and Tibi—I love their ultramodern approach to silhouette and construction. Furthermore, their collections exude playfulness; to me, that's what fashion is all about.
Most Meaningful Item in My Wardrobe: I have coats from both my grandparents- my grandfather’s leather jacket and my grandmother’s sable- that I wear as often as possible.
Favorite Denim: Frame - I own so many!
Biggest Splurge: A Yohji Yamamoto coat. I pulled and styled it for a photo shoot and then ended up purchasing it because I loved it so much.
Greatest Steal: Hands down my Acne Studios leather moto jacket. I thrifted it for much less than half its retail value!
Favorite Food to Make: Anything sweet, but especially cookies. I love working my way through the NYT Cooking Cookie Week recipes during the holiday season.
Your Perfect Saturday: Sleeping in a bit, a morning workout, coffee date with a friend, and relaxing after with a good book. Depending on my mood, the evening may consist of a homemade meal followed by game night with friends, or dinner and a movie at one of our local theaters.
My Life in a Hashtag: #areyougoingtoeatthat
Words to Live By: Whenever a door closes, another window opens.
Philanthropy Close to The Heart: Greater Columbus Arts Council, Freedom a la Cart, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Pelotonia… the list goes on!
When You’re Not Thinking Fashion, You’re... Walking around the Franklin Park Conservatory with my husband and dog, spending time with friends and family, contemplating future travel plans, or getting lost in a good book or movie.
