Building a sustainable wardrobe is about investing in quality pieces and reimagining them in a million ways!
This season, we teamed up with local influencer Sustainably Aimee to show just how versatile one summer-into-fall staple can be: the blazer.
Our stylist, Christine, paired up with Aimee to create three fashion-forward looks around this go-to piece.
Recreate these outfits with a blazer from your own closet, or, pick up a forever favorite from a local boutique like Rowe – where we sourced almost all the items featured in this blog!
Keep scrolling to see/shop their looks and learn more about Aimee’s journey toward a more intentional wardrobe & lifestyle.
Our sustainable star of the show (besides Aimee!) is Rowe’s chic Linen Tweed DB Peaked Lapel Blazer. Here are three of the unlimited ways you could style it or a similar piece from your own collection:
Pant Look
Laid-back but modern. Pulled together but comfortable.
This printed tee and jeans combo is the perfect in-between attire that can transition between everything on your agenda.
Pair Your Blazer With:
-
- -A printed tee, like the Clare V Stud Ciao Classic Tee
- -A medium wash jean, like the MOTHER The Dodger Ankle Jeans
- -A textured bag, like the Clare V Grande Fanny Bag
- -A heel whose color pairs back to your bag, like the Annette Satin Leopard Heel
- -A teardrop earring, like the ALV Kylie Hoops
Skirt Look
This full-fem look brings playful color and texture to the forefront!
The bright yellow sweater and sequin midi skirt help you shine, while the blazer and neutral sneakers ground it with structure.
Pair Your Blazer With:
- -A sweater with a pop-of-color, like the Kerri Rosenthal Patchwork Cotton Cashmere Pullover
- -A fun midi skirt, like the Rabens Saloner Lior Lunar Pencil Skirt
- -An accent necklace, like the Chunky Seed Pearl Necklace
- -Your go-to white or neutral sneaker, like the YSL Gym Sneakers
Dress Look
A blazer is the perfect way to dress up your everyday or evening dress!
This intentional layering adds a sense of refinement and relaxation when paired back with a slingback heel and small bag.
Pair Your Blazer With:
- -A maxi dress, like the LNA Lilia Ribbed Dress
- -A modern hoop, like the Jenny Bird U-Link Earrings
- -A print or textured heel, like the Annette Satin Leopard Heel
- -A small purse, like the Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette
Meet Aimee – Q&A
If you’re not already following @sustainablyaimee, allow us to introduce you. Get to know Columbus’ go-to girl for all things sustainability!
Tell us a little bit about your journey to becoming Sustainably Aimee! What inspired you to start your sustainability journey and share it with others?
“I spent part of my twenties in Australia and Bali, where I first noticed how deeply people connect with the ocean. Not just for leisure, but for its wildlife and resources.

Seeing the growing piles of plastic on beaches, especially during a photoshoot when I had to clear bottles and straws from the sand, made me realize I needed to take action.
I began making small, intentional shifts: bringing my own coffee cup, shopping for package-free produce, thrifting clothes, and supporting sustainable brands.
By joining Plastic Free July in 2018, I documented my wins and fails, proving that sustainable living doesn’t mean giving up luxury—it’s about being intentional.
Now, living in Columbus, I partner with sustainable brands while continuing my own journey, reminding people that even small local actions can make a powerful difference.”
What does “sustainable fashion” really mean to you? How do you approach shopping mindfully while still enjoying fashion?
“For me, sustainable fashion just means slowing down and being more intentional with what I bring into my closet. I don’t think it has to be perfect—it’s about finding balance and cutting out the noise in seasonal trends.
I try to ask myself a few questions BEFORE buying anything new.
– Do I really love this?
– Will I wear it often?
– Do I have something like this already?
-Does it feel like me long-term?
This helps me be more conscious in my buying habits. It’s less about rules and more about making little choices that feel good, like investing in things that last or choosing pieces that tell a story.
Fashion is still fun, it’s just more thoughtful now—and I’ve found that makes getting dressed even more enjoyable.”
If someone is new to sustainable style, where should they start?
“If you’re new to sustainable style, I’d say start by looking at what you already own. Most of us have more than we realize, and reworking your closet with timeless basics you can wear year-round is the best foundation.
From there, if you’re curious about brands, the Good On You app is such a helpful resource—it breaks down how different fashion labels rank on things like sustainability and ethics, and even suggests similar alternatives.
It doesn’t have to feel overwhelming—start small, repeat outfits you love, and slowly add pieces that feel timeless and true to you. That way, your wardrobe grows with intention instead of impulse.
Also, truly working with a company like Wardrobe Therapy can help you look at your closet with new eyes. I actually gift their consulting to friends who are looking for updates BEFORE going out to buy new things!”
Do you have a “holy grail” thrift or secondhand find?
“YES, I found an authentic London Fog trench coat at a thrift store and it is one of my favorite pieces because it is so classic and timeless.
I have had it for years and it is always a conversation starter that reminds me of the exciting find.”
What’s next for you in your sustainability journey? Any exciting projects on the horizon?
“I am furnishing my apartment and also trying to stay eco-friendly and be mindful of what I’m bringing into the space! It’s fun, it’s challenging and I’m nearly there!
We have so many incredible vintage and thrift stores in Columbus. I can’t wait to document more of the space later this Fall.”
