DRESS TO IMPRESS: How to Transition your Summer Looks into Fall

While this weather most definitely is a heat wave pretty much wherever you are in the United States, all of our favorite stores, both in-store and online, are showing all of their Fall goodies. We had 3 favorites this summer (ok, a few more than that) that were on style repeat for ourselves, and of course our clients! And of course, now we are working on the Fall outfitting and transitioning our summer looks into some of our Fall favorites.

  1. The Summer Maxi Dress
  2. White Denim
  3. Western Ankle Boot

So let’s start outfitting and putting these summer favs to good use. So very bougie.

1 Free People Kikas Dress | 2 Veronica Beard Hudson Jacket| 3 Gucci Logo Earrings  | 4 ZARA Leather Shopper  | 5 Vince Camuto Mesella Sandal

The maxi dress…from Summer to Fall. So your uniform has been a breezy floral dress all Summer long and you’re finding it hard to give up?! We get you! Us too! Here’s how to continue wearing your favorite Summer maxi but put a Fall twist on it…top it with a great blazer! We love this almond-hued option by Veronica Beard. The perfect neutral for the season, this jacket is crisp, fresh, but still not too heavy-feeling for this early in the season. We love the idea of scrunching the sleeves and even adding a few bangles which will pair perfectly with the logo Gucci earrings (a trend that really elevates this look). We added a black open toe mule to ground the outfit as well as let the toes breathe so you don’t get too warm (plus, we are in Ohio…you can wear those open toes through October!). The large tote is our coveted bag and helps allow this look to go straight from the office to after-hours drinks/dinner.

1 Madewell Mid-Rise Skinny Denim | 2 BaubleBar Penelope Earrings | 3 Stuart Weitzman Leigh Pumps | 4 J. Crew Cashmere Sweater  | 5 Lafayette  148 Pavillon Plaid Trench Coat | 6 Danse Lente Phoebe Acetate Bag

The idea of white denim being tucked away at the close of Labor Day weekend is no longer a fashion rule. Simply put, your favorite summer white denim can make the perfect transitional piece! As the season slowly turns,  you will want to swap your easy summer knits for longer sleeves that are still breathable and those yummy rich hues that embody the very essence of Fall. To ease into those longer layers, we love the everyday cashmere sweater from J. Crew. It’s nice and light and also comes in a v-neck style! In terms of trend favs for Fall 2019, we are MAD over plaid and DRAMATIC statement coats. This sheer-esque trench coat by Lafayette 148 screams transitional.  For a dose of styling flare, we suggest lightly scrunching the sleeves of the sweater and doing more of a dramatic scrunch with the sheer trench. And oh yes, be sure to leave the jacket open and tie it in the back for that easy effortlessly chic look. For finishing touches, a neutral, yet textured colored pump, gold hoops, and a darling top handle bag…hello fall! Style Tip:  As the season continues to evolve you can trade this sheer trench for a heavier statement coat!

1 Free People Ranch Boot  | 2 Mes Demoiselles Mazera Skirt | 3  Intermix Elroy Sweater | 4 Z Supply Long Sleeve Shoulder Tee | 5  James Michelle Aloha Bracelet Set

Wanting to keep wearing your western boot with ALL things FALL?? We loved this shoe trend for Spring and we love it for Fall. Our younger gals love to pair with their shorts and rompers. For our ladies who are 50+, they are having fun with maxis and denim. For all ages, make a statement by pairing with a long maxi skirt and oversized v-neck sweater. Needing to pull in the waistline? Try adding your fitted denim jacket or blazer. We are loving all things “almond butter.” So yummy and warm, yet neutral. Too hot for this weather… try it with an off-shoulder tee for now. Style tip: We love brown and black, together!
