Scarf Styling Three Ways

Once thought of as a winter accessory to bundle up in against the cold, scarves are now emerging as a staple in spring/summer outfitting. We’re seeing them in all iterations: large or small, satins to cottons, accessory accents to starring pieces.

To help you approach this trend with confidence, our stylists are showing you how to style scarves in three unique ways this season.

THE BANDANA CAP

Styled by Christine

HOW TO STYLE IT:

Headscarves are currently experiencing a resurgence as a major fashion accessory, adding a touch of elegance and flair to your look.

Of the many ways to wear a headscarf (i.e., The pony tie, bandanna, and twisted headband) my favorite is the Bandana Cap. Wear it similarly to a bandana, but instead of knotting the scarf under your hair, knot it on top of your strands.

Whether you’re casually dressed in pants or wearing a dress, I promise you, this will elevate your style.

THE HALTER TOP

Styled by Whit

HOW TO STYLE IT:

In the summer I love to wear my large scarves as halter tops:

Fold it into a triangle, tie the ends together, loop it over your head and secure the tails in the back (either knotted together or tucked into bottoms).

This makes a great vacation look when paired with breezy pants or underneath a sharp blazer for an evening out!

THE SCARF BELT

Styled by Britt

HOW TO STYLE IT:

Layering a scarf as a belt is a chic way to add a little flair, and maybe even a color pop, to an otherwise simple outfit.

Fold a large scarf in half into a triangle, then tie it on one side. But here, some additional dimension is added with a silver belt layered over the scarf.

Keep a little scarf print peeking just above the top line, and tie the scarf off around the belt at the side instead. This will help hold it in place.

Don’t forget to roll up the sleeves on the shirt dress and pop the collar, and the look is finished off with some other fun silver accessories and a great bag.
