TEAM SPOTLIGHT: Iris Zwirn

Almost 11 months ago, Iris joined our team at Wardrobe Therapy! What an exciting year it’s been seeing her training come to light. She has put on several hats within our company and welcomed them equally energetic and willing to share upon her insights and learnings.  Our clients and fashion leaders within the community (and online!) have welcomed her so warmly, so it shouldn’t be surprising that Iris has been promoted to our Social Media Marketing Manager. We can’t wait to share more exciting projects that Iris is working on at Team Wardrobe Therapy!
Congratulations Iris!!

Q: How did you get your start in fashion?

A: After I graduated from college, I was a bit lost on what path I wanted to take. I have always felt most myself when being around fashion, so I turned to retail to guide me. I started as a sales associate in Nordstrom’s Women’s Contemporary Department. Having previous knowledge of brands and a knack for personal relations, I quickly joined their styling program. I will always be thankful for this experience because it taught me so much about the world of retail and I met some amazing people. I then started at Wardrobe Therapy, originally as a Social Media Content Creator and Stylist in Training. After about nine months of splitting my time between training and social media, I was offered to be Wardrobe Therapy’s full-time Social Media Marketing Manager- an opportunity I couldn’t turn down!

Q: What has been your favorite memory at Wardrobe Therapy so far?

A: So many come to mind – I love any time our team is all together! Our holiday party will always be a great memory for me, everyone was so welcoming and warm. It can be easy to overlook the semi-green 23-year-old, but I have never once felt like my opinion wasn’t greatly valued.

Q: What is your day-to-day like as a Social Media Marketing Manager?

A: Every day is different! My top priority is always making sure our content is planned out for the week on all platforms. I’m often out taking pictures and videos at local stores or popping into appointments with stylists! It’s important I see what is relevant to clients in order to ensure our content is beneficial.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: Besides having the opportunity to learn from seasoned stylists with years of knowledge under their belts, I love bridging the gap between high fashion and reality. The world of fashion can sometimes seem unattainable or overwhelming, but my goal is to help Wardrobe Therapy be a place where people can see what is in style and also learn how to make it their own.

Q: What has being at Wardrobe Therapy taught you so far?

A: How to dress for my body type!! What differentiates us from other styling groups is our strong focus on silhouette. I have struggled with dressing my proportions my whole life, but Christy and Candace came into my wardrobe and taught me very valuable tips on how to balance my proportions without compromising my personal style.

Q: What are your favorite social media accounts to follow?

A: Allison Bornstein is a great one, she makes finding your personal style easy and fun. I also love her emphasis on thoughtful purchasing and maximizing your current wardrobe. Amy Smilovic is another one of my favorites, she is the Founder and Creative Director of Tibi. Amy has open and honest conversations about styling and finding yourself through fashion. Her realistic view on outfit repeating and personal style resonates with me.

Our team celebrating 10K Instagram followers

Q: A project you’re proud of?

A: I created a five-day summer giveaway in July as a push for us to reach 10K Instagram followers. Each day we collaborated with a different local business, showing our team using their services! Each day one person was given a gift provided by that business. It was a huge success! Not only did it push us over 10K followers, it was great exposure for our business and the businesses who collaborated with us.
